Compatibility with components from the preceding HVS series is not possible.
The RJ45 termination plug for the data bus, included in the scope of delivery, requires on-site assembly. To do this, a wire bridge must be inserted and crimped between pins 1 and 6 (viewed from above, looking at the flat side of the plug with the pin contacts, with the cable entry facing downward and the pins numbered sequentially from left to right). An actual resistor is not required.
In this premium storage package, SMA’s 3-phase Smart Energy Hybrid Inverters are paired with BYD’s HVS high-voltage storage systems. Available in four power classes, these hybrid units stand out thanks to their comprehensive feature set—ranging from surge protection to various interfaces. As experience has shown, the visualization provided via the SMA Sunny Portal is of the highest standard. The new HVS+ series from BYD builds upon its proven characteristics and specifications by incorporating an upgraded BCU. This unit offers flexible compatibility, serving the storage modules across the HVB, HVS+, and HVM+ series. The new automatic SOC balancing optimizer eliminates the need for manual state-of-charge adjustments during initial installation and system expansion. Furthermore, the revised BCU connection management system—featuring plug-in connectors for both power and communication interfaces—saves even more valuable time during installation.
