The VARTA BCU (BM1/BM2), when used in combination with LFP batteries (BM2), is currently compatible with Kostal and SMA inverters, as well as the VARTA.hybrid.wall inverter.

This “Made in Germany” storage package combines SMA's 3-phase Smart Energy Hybrid inverters with VARTA's high-voltage storage systems. Available in four power classes, these hybrid systems come fully equipped with features ranging from surge protection to interfaces. Experience has shown that the visualization in the SMA Sunny Portal is top-notch. The BM2 generation of the Varta.wall high-voltage storage system now utilizes LFP cell chemistry and offers 4.5 kWh of usable capacity per module. The wireless stacking concept allows for up to 4 batteries with a total capacity of 18.0 kWh to be installed in a tower. This enables the system to deliver fast and easy installation. Slim dimensions and a depth of only 140 mm allow for flexible installation.
