The most important information about Huawei inverters
SUN2000 is the brand name of all Huawei inverters, regardless of their power or features. The program includes single or three-phase inverters for small private installations or large commercial systems, divided into the different series of the SUN2000:
- L1: single-phase hybrid inverter with 2 to 6 kW nominal power.
- M1: three-phase, with 3 to 10 kW output and two MPP trackers
- M2: for larger systems with 100 to 115 kW output, the 100KTL-M2 already comes with arc detection.
- M3: for medium-sized systems with 30 to 50 kW output and four MPP trackers each with two inputs. The current per input for the 50KTL-M3 is slightly higher than for the smaller devices, which slightly affects the efficiency.
- M5: closes the gap between the M1 and M3 series. Three-phase with 12 to 25 kW output and two MPP trackers each with two inputs.
- H1: the most powerful inverter with 300 kW nominal power.
How long is the warranty for Huawei inverters?
Depending on the series, Huawei offers a 5 to 10-year warranty for the SUN2000. For devices in the L1, M1, and M5 series, which are intended for small installations or for private customers, there is a ten-year warranty. For devices in the M2, M3, and H1 series, which are designed for larger commercial installations, there is a five-year warranty.
Which storage units are compatible with Huawei inverters?
Which app for Huawei inverters?
- FusionSolar app, if the inverter is integrated into the Smart PV Management System (SmartPVMS)
- SUN2000 app, if the inverter is integrated into another monitoring software

The most important information about Huawei storage and commercial storage
Huawei's storage units bear the brand name LUNA2000 - there are several series here as well. The S0 and S1 series are intended for private use and can also be used in small commercial installations. Storage units of the 2H1 series, on the other hand, are designed for large commercial installations.
LUNA2000 S1
LUNA 2000 2H1
The 2H1 system consists of modular storage cabinets. Up to 12 battery modules can be installed in each cabinet, each with a capacity of 16.13 kWh. A cabinet thus achieves a storage capacity between 96.8 and 193.5 kWh and a power of 92 to 100 kW. By paralleling a maximum of 20 cabinets, a total power of 2,000 kW and a storage capacity of 3,870 kWh can be achieved. The commercial storage unit has numerous safety and comfort features, including the ability to bypass faulty battery modules and independently charge and discharge each battery module. Another feature is the automatic calibration of the modules' state of charge, which takes place without the presence of a technician. Another important feature is the fire protection system, which includes both active and passive elements, such as temperature, smoke, and CO detectors. In the event of a fire, the extinguishing agent Novec 1230 from 3M is used. As an additional safety measure, an airbag is also installed in each cabinet of the commercial storage unit to protect people in the immediate vicinity in the event of an explosion.

Huawei's wallbox: Smart Charger
Huawei also has a wallbox in its range, the Smart Charger with a maximum charging capacity of 22 kW.
The wallbox can be switched from three-phase to single-phase operation, which reduces the charging capacity to 7.4 kW. Surplus charging is possible, as is dynamic load management.
